Dr.-Ing. Albrecht Weinert
I'm a professor at the Bochum University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Bochum) and director of the MEVA-Lab — Laboratory for Media and versatile Applications.
My fields of teaching and work are

• practical computer science
• operating systems, computer architecture
• Java and OO (Object Orientation), OO methods,
• COO of the University's club of supporters, the
  Gesellschaft der Förderer der Hochschule Bochum e.V.
• Industrial Seminars on
  •   Java - Basics, OO, Automation (with Java),
  •   XML and Enterprise-Applications
• consulting for companies on larger projects in these fields
• co-organising of meetings and conventions (IPC &c.)
• editing and translation work for Java and OO journals
• open source project Frame4J (at AI²T)

Since 2006, my MEVA-Lab, is an "Educational Institute" member of PLCopen. This is a logical consequence of earlier contributions to IEC61131 (w/o the 6 in those days). And it fits to our Java (and XML) philosophy of being platform independent.
Further memberships: VDI, VDI/VDE-GMA, VDI-FVT, Collabnet, SDN, IBM's Academic Initiative and other University/education networks etc.
